Ultimately, I think its time to invest in an official controller. I have also used the Power A controller in the past and they are simply not durable and after a couple months or so they either drift or the wired connection ceases to work (even when switching out the micro-USB cable).

I just received my Hori controller yesterday and so far I do like the feel of it more, however I have already been getting random misinputs (jumping) when moving the control stick and I do notice the often mentioned deadzone. Now the controller has become almost unusable because of this issue as my A button gets stuck very often. The biggest problem, however, was that about a week ago my A button started to get stuck, especially when pressed at a specific angle. I found that the L and R buttons were quite sensitive and every now and then I would accidentally air dodge because my left index finger would brush against it. I had heard that there were problems with misinputs but I did not notice anything out of the ordinary on that front.

The throw of the control stick is quite wide, which I don't personally like because it feels less precise. However, after a couple weeks I noticed a couple flaws. The control stick is quite loose (not that much tension) when compared to an OEM controller. The build quality is decent and it feels durable and hefty when in hand.

This is neither a pro nor con, just a matter of preference. The controller is definitely bigger than the OEM Gamecube controller. As a disclaimer I am not great at the game by no means, but I have been playing for almost two years.
